Hello Blurtters,

This is how it is being done back in the days, then in the ancient time where we have to follow some rules and regulations guiding food preparation in an African way. It is being said and also known that back in the olden days they eat a lot of carbohydrates in order to do more of Farming activities. Farming activities is more paramount at that time even when you are schooling you must also have your own plot of land where are you Farm different types of crop either on the same piece of land or on different farmland.

this time I'm going to take us through some processes involved in food processing yam into what is called pounded yam. within few minutes it'll be converted even when you found using mortar and pistle. the first thing you need to do is to identify the type of jam you want to use either the white house or the yellow yam. Whichever one you decide you watch it very clean and you peel it.

Then after you watch it again and arrange it inside a very clean pot then add a little bit of water to some reasonable extent. You light up the gas or any type of heat source maybe coalpot etc. After 20 minutes of cooking it will be perfectly done for pounding as you can see it right here.

  • Then you wash your mortar and pestle then you please you're already cooked white yam inside them one after the other as it is shown below. Then you also further pound the yam clockwisely or anticlockwisel

  • After you might have finished pounding for like 10 to 15 minutes to complete the whole yam. Then you had a little bit of hot water to make it soften. Then you continue to stir and turn it up and down motion. Then, your pounded yam is almost ready. You also make a provision for where you going to keep the hot pounded yam be it white nylon or your warmer or your normal plate dish.
