Not How Long but How Well You Lived.

I concluded that one of the reasons why we have time is a privilege for us to count our days, every sunrise and sunset should make us understand the fact that we are gradually nearing our end, and as annoying as this may sound, we have no other choice than to leave the world when our time is up.

Some things baffled me a lot when I was younger, reading the Bible sometimes makes me curious about how the people then were able to live for over two hundred years. Sarah had a first child at the age of ninety, haven't you asked yourself how she managed to carry the pregnancy. A woman of ninety today would hardly be able to walk around on her own, Methuselah lived for 969 years, isn't that weird but we all have something in common regardless of how long they live which is leaving this world one day.

What would the world have looked like if the time we die was fixed? For instance, every human would die at the age of a hundred except they are been killed by unnatural death. It would be great right, we can do whatever we want for a certain time and start living a good life maybe at the age of 90, ten years should be enough to find mercy in the sight of God and the men we have wronged or isn't that enough?

The inability to predict when death would come makes death unique, you can see someone right now and they are gone the next minute. The unpredictable nature of death is why every human must live a good life the best way they can, we can't be perfect so I wouldn't use the word "Righteous".

As it stands now, it is not a matter of how long we live anymore. The time we spend here is judged by how well we lived and not how long we live because someone who died at the age of 30 might have done lots of well more than someone who died at 100. Aside from the fact that it hurts to see the youth die, some of these youths would be missed because of the impact they have had on people's life.

I remembered how some students mourned a guy who died in their department during Christmas, he has touched lives by helping students with his profit from the crypto-verse and even taught lots of them how to make money. Why wouldn't he be mourned? They are going to feel his absence among them because of who he was.

We all have a reason why we are here and everything you possess is for a reason, the knowledge, the wealth, the gift, the skill is for a purpose so why then keep the benefits to yourself alone when there are people who are suffering because they lack that rare thing you have in abundance.

Touching lives doesn't have to be about giving money alone because a lot of us believe that's what helping people means, there are countless ways to have an impact on the world but it is left for you to figure out what you can do to help others.

A true life instance of why it is important to touch lives with things we have while we can.

I went to withdraw from a POS some years back and I noticed people standing in groups talking about something I didn't know, I asked the POS merchant what was going on in the neighborhood and she mentioned that a woman and her daughter had a fatal accident. The woman died immediately but the girl needs to be operated on, it looks like her leg will be amputated so the women were trying to raise money to support her treatment because the girl is very popular aside from her mother been famous for helping people with water when there is electricity problem. She pumps with fuel and gives people for free when others sell their own.

Her daughter who is barely 9 years of age greets people like an adult, she is outspoken and confident. I can remember the first time I had an encounter with her, I was like " God bless me with a child that would make me happy and proud".

I didn't have enough so I gave a thousand out of the money I came to withdraw and a few weeks later, I heard the operation was successful and the girl had been flown abroad by one of the wealthy people in the neighborhood since she can get better treatment over there.

The good things her mother have done in the neighborhood paid off for the daughter, the girl came back after some time and she had artificial legs that would help her move around to some extent. The death of her mother could have been the end of her life if the mother was a bad person in society.

I have seen people who live like they will be here forever, they discriminate and won't have anything to do with people who are living below their standards. We must think we won't need the help of others so we can treat people anyhow we want, have you asked yourself what tomorrow has in store for you.

Let's assume you won't need help from others, how about your offspring? Do you know whose help your coming generation would need from the people you have treated wrongly?

There are countless rewards attached to living right, let us remember we don't know how long we will be here, and living a good life should be a priority for us all.
