Brainwashing

I have always considered myself a "different" person from the rest of those around me, because I am not one of those who go along with the masses. Yes, in many occasions I agree and there are some things that I do and I like like like millions of people.

I mean I don't consider myself a "social" person, I don't dance, I don't drink much, I don't go to parties or go out in big groups. On the contrary, I am a quiet, simple person without great pretensions, I don't follow trends or fashions.

But one thing I don't like are the things imposed or when they make you believe that you must do something because if you don't you are a bad person or it is your obligation.

For example, lately in my country things have "improved" or so they want us to believe, the truth is that we have had changes, although they are not enough, they represent an improvement for most people. The salary, in my case has gone from $10 to $50, it is still not enough but it is always better to receive 50 instead of 10.

All or most companies have gone back to their normal pre-pandemic schedules and this pay increase makes people a little more motivated because they are getting a little more money. In addition to this, the government has begun to make infrastructure improvements in the public companies, painting, provision of uniforms, studies to evaluate the deplorable state of all the facilities and that is all very good. Those are obligations of the state.

What I do not agree with is that they should be put on an altar because they started to do their job. And to top it off, several of these improvements have to be made by the employees of these institutions themselves. In other words, I give them the paint but the employees must paint. When these employees were hired to perform other functions. Why should a secretary paint the facilities where she works or make repairs.

On top of all this, if you don't do it, you are bad and have no sense of belonging to the company. This is the psychology they make everyone believe.

If it were not because the employees have a sense of belonging the public companies and perhaps the government itself would have fallen apart years ago, because it is the same underpaid employees who for many years have been carrying the materials they need to work, be it paper, pens, markers, even the toner for the printers that are used to produce the company's work.

Employees who have to carry even the water they drink during the working day because the company does not comply with the minimum standards established in the labor law and now they want the employees to clean up the mess.

The worst of all is the number of people who fall into this psychological game and happily go out to paint and repair what does not belong to them. Don't they remember that in March we had to pay income tax, which is approximately 35% of annual earnings. Do they not realize that every time they make a purchase we pay 16% VAT, did they not just approve a 3% tax if they pay in dollars instead of the local currency?

Then, in addition to the little we earn, we end up paying 50% or more in taxes and on top of all this I must happily go out to paint the facilities so that they say I have a sense of belonging.

To top it all off I hear on the radio that the drivers of a transportation line should have been in charge of the weeding and conditioning of the bus stop "because we should all collaborate, not everything should be done by the government". This is the brainwashing they are implanting at all scales and by all means of communication. They pretend that the people are in charge of repairing everything they have destroyed all these years.

I am sure that after things get a little better the government will be full of glory for all their "achievements" and for having taken the country forward.

The truth is that I am outraged!

Yes, its definitely a form of brainwashing.

Some of the corporations here in the U.S. make you take a psychological test before deciding if one is worthy of hiring.

It frames the questions and answers one is to choose from in such a way as to seek to elicit responses that would indicate you wish to work there not for money but because it is a privilege to work for them.

As if it's not enough for them to procure labor for their profits in exchange for money, but they demand one feel a loyalty and wish to go above and beyond or one is lacking and not normal.

It's only natural to feel outraged, and what I find frightening are the amount of folks who are not outraged and believe this is what normal should look like.

That's right, they make you believe that it's an honor to work for them and that it doesn't matter about money or your needs, just being loyal. What surprises me the most is how many people applaud and feel happy with this situation.

What surprises me the most is how many people applaud and feel happy with this situation.

I find it frightening myself. People at an unconscious level are afraid of having to take care of themselves as well as becoming a nail to the hammer of government/corporate power, which is often one and the same.

Coupled with education from those tasked with teaching us as children designed to make us fit into the power structures we find ourselves in, most wont even think to consider anything other than what is demanded, even when it is dehumanizing or makes ones life more difficult than it should.

People are applauding that someone else is doing the thinking, someone else is responsible for whatever safety might seem to exist due to their oversight. Never pausing and realizing that the price demanded is an enslavement. Of forfeiting ones dreams and soul.

Not sure about there, but here schools for example teach one how to be a successful slave. They got rid of any of the few classes that taught one self sufficiency and critical thinking. Those skills are detrimental to forcing one to be a cog in their machines.

Detailed and nicely explained topic! Thank you mam for this explanation!
