I have experiance durinf working at hospital and these are some general guidelines for treating minor wounds:
Clean the wound: Rinse the wound with clean water to remove any dirt or debris. If the wound is dirty, you can use a mild soap to clean it.
Apply an antiseptic: Apply an antiseptic solution, such as hydrogen peroxide or iodine, to the wound to prevent infection.
Cover the wound: Cover the wound with a sterile bandage or gauze to protect it from further injury and to keep it clean.
Change the bandage: Change the bandage daily or more often if it becomes wet or dirty.
Keep the wound dry: Avoid getting the wound wet, especially if you have an open wound.
Watch for signs of infection: Watch for signs of infection, such as redness, swelling, or discharge. If you notice any of these symptoms, seek medical attention.
Keep the wound elevated: If the wound is on your leg or arm, elevate it to reduce swelling.
It's important to remember that if you have a deep or large wound, or if the wound continues to bleed, you should seek medical attention right away.
