More digging and planting

I'm happy to reach another garden milestone here in my new Northern BC location - rows of tiny food seedlings!

Those are lettuce plants, and will obviously need thinning. Looks like the Spring rains have helped germinate the first round of seeds I put in 2 weeks ago. It feels good to have my seeds come back to life as hoped, and look healthy in the soil I have available. Here's the same spot a couple days ago:

So they are coming along nicely. Here's the whole row:

And the latest shots of the full garden:

Won't be long before the plants are visible from that view. That will be fun!

Here's a GIF of my progress as I dig up this lawn bit by bit:

Today, I planted another row of lettuce, this stuff the oak-like reddish stuff. Now I have 7 rows of seeds down.

Another row that has sprouted is the French spinach:

I managed to pick up some really nice seed potatoes today, which I will plant soon:

Looks like I need a big area for potatoes... got my work cut out for me!

I hope to inspire and encourage others to grow food. I use a completely organic and simple method, and I'm putting it to use here in the North this year. Thank you for reading!

Hmm, congratulations I can see that your seed have began to germinate. That's really good

It's looking good! None of my lettuce came up, two varieties planted at two different times in two different places. I have no idea why. The seeds were only one year old. Not one sprout. Weird.

You're right, sorry to hear that! If you need any seeds, just say the word, I'll gladly send you some. Organic heirloom right from Nature of course : )

Great to see the plants starting to sprout 😀

Wow it is nice to see many sprouts in rows! I know how it feels because I for one have some seedlings of tomato. Once i saw some sprouts I really felt delighted.
Congratulations! More to come. 🥂

Those rows are looking good brother! 🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🍀🍀🍀

Thank you bro! Green things are my specialty...

I'm excited for our new seed potatoes! That was a good farmers market. And that garden keeps getting big on 'em.
