My Actifit Report Card: December 1 2022

in hive-193552 •  last year

We all played an eighteen-hole round of disc golf at my home course today. It was a lot of fun to be outside but it was very cold. There were places both north and south of the area that had gotten a few inches of snow. It was frosty but not snowy. By the end of the round, some areas in the sun were melting off and getting a bit muddy and slick.

I won the round with a +1 score, to a two-way second-place tie at +11.

My new friction gloves are excellent and help a lot with the grip in the cold weather. If anything I tend to have trouble putting too much spin and power in a late release on certain discs because of the enhanced grip. It is a nice problem to have and certainly something that I can get used to with a bit more practice throwing with gloves on.

The river was a nice color today:

It was running very low so there was no need to worry that much on hole eight. When the river is high discs can wash away or get lost under the water on a bad miss. I have not done that recently but certainly had my share of lost discs on windy days in the past.

Some sky colors:

My friend had a name for this sunlight diffraction pattern but I don't remember it now. The word was something that had a 'dog' sound in it - sundawg? He said there is usually a matching color display on the other side of the sun but today there was no cloud there.

This hawk was hunting for food when we left:
