Travel around the world 132 Dubai Market Deu\Eng

in instablurt •  last year

Hallo liebe Community,

Wirklich witzig.

Al

Hello dear community,
a nice experience in Dubai is also a visit to one of the many markets. There are very many spread all over the city. From the ancient classic Arab market to super modern markets, which are more reminiscent of noble shopping streets.

Especially interesting are of course the old markets, which probably already existed in this way in the Middle Ages. If you visit such a market, you should do it at night if possible. The atmosphere is even more beautiful. Everywhere it smells of spices, of which one has often never heard. You can taste everything, take it in your hand, smell it and the sellers are always happy to give you information about what you have in front of you and what it is good for.

Of course, there are also countless stalls with souvenirs and the merchants immediately come up to you and start to advertise their goods once the customer is sighted. If one then shows interest in something, it goes off, the trading. For one a fun, for the other a horror. But if you don't trade, the traders are almost angry. That is part of the good tone here. As a rule, one agrees then at 30-50% of the price called at the beginning.

Very recommendable are also all the gold jewelry stores, here you can make one or the other bargain compared to us. The most beautiful are of course the stores where lamps are sold, here you feel like in a thousand and one nights. The merchants are all completely geared to German-speaking tourists. Most speak a few words of German and try to attract customers with handwritten cardboard signs in German. So you can read very often "Aldi, Rewe, Edeka, everything cheap". Really funny.

Finally, you can take a small tour on one of the many boats across the canal. This is something like a water cab and costs only a few cents. But there you have again a great view of the market and the city.

Many greetings and see you soon
Al
