Water is Life

Copper Basin Wash is normally a bone-dry creek bed that flows down from the nearby Sierra Prieta hills near Prescott through the old copper mines and eventually out to the creeks south of here.
However this year's Winter snow and rain brought flowing water back to the Wash.

I was pleasantly surprised to find several pools teaming with hundreds of tiny tadpoles.

Hopefully these little guys can grow quickly while the water remains in those pools for all too quickly the heat and lack of rain in the coming Summer days will dry up the wash and it will revert back to a dry and sandy creek bed.
