Supreme Court to deliver verdict in PDP suit against Tinubu, Shettima May 26

The Supreme Court has scheduled May 26 as the date for delivering its judgment in a significant case brought forward by the Peoples Democratic Party.

The party has petitioned for the disqualification of Bola Tinubu, who was elected as President, and Kassim Shettima, who was elected as Vice President.

Furthermore, the party has earnestly requested the court to overturn the previous ruling of the Court of Appeal, presided over by Justice James Abundaga.

In that ruling, the Court of Appeal stated that the party had failed to provide sufficient evidence to establish its locus standi, or legal standing, in the case. The Peoples Democratic Party is seeking a reversal of this decision.

This upcoming judgment by the Supreme Court holds great significance as it will determine the fate of the President-elect and the Vice President-elect, as well as potentially impact the future course of the nation.

All eyes will be on the court as it deliberates on this matter of utmost importance.

Former vice president of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, recently expressed his concerns regarding the president-elect, Bola Tinubu, and what he perceives as inconsistencies in Tinubu's educational background.

Abubakar brought up these allegations while addressing Tinubu's objections to his petition, in which Abubakar questioned Tinubu's eligibility to run for the 2023 presidential election.

According to a report by The Cable, Abubakar stated that Tinubu has displayed inconsistencies in his date of birth, state of origin, gender, and even name. Additionally, Abubakar claimed that the degree certificate attributed to Tinubu, supposedly obtained from the Chicago State University, actually belongs to a female individual referred to as "F" in the certificate, rather than Tinubu himself.

Abubakar further accused Tinubu of demonstrating inconsistency in relation to the secondary school he attended and the universities he claimed to have attended.

These allegations have sparked a heated debate surrounding Tinubu's qualifications and have drawn attention to the need for transparency and accuracy in political candidates' educational credentials.

In his own words, Abubakar expressed, "According to reports, the degree certificate of Bola Tinubu, the second respondent, which is said to have been obtained from Chicago State University, belongs to a female identified as 'F' in the certificate and not to him."

These claims by Abubakar shed light on the significance of ensuring that candidates possess the necessary qualifications and that their educational backgrounds are accurate and verifiable.

It is important to note that these allegations and counter-allegations have prompted a lively discourse among the public and political observers.

As the situation unfolds, it remains to be seen how these claims will be addressed and what impact they may have on Tinubu's candidacy for the upcoming presidential election.
