MY WEEKEND CRAVINGS WAS MET

Life is the only thing which can never be replaced when lost.

One thing about me is that I go for what I crave even if it would cost a lot for me because I believe this life is short and no one can predict what would happen next. So, the only way to live the best of it is to enjoy it while you are still living. Who knows what will happen tomorrow? No one!

My weekend already started yesterday even though I have always been at home since I finished school and when it's Friday, it is always an exciting one for me because the week is almost ending and we would be looking forward to another beautiful week.

I got to eat what I have been craving since two weeks ago.

Oh! Are you saying “What's the big deal in here? Is it not the usual rice?”

Why not wait and keep reading to understand my ranting.

Normally, when I make my soup, I only prepare it as a normal one that would serve me in eating with solid and swallow meals and light food and I make my soup to last me for just a week (6 or 7 days at most). So, in this soup, I might add chicken or turkey and most times, I only go with roasted fish, which we call “Panla” in my dialect with cow's skin.

The chicken or turkey would cost me $5 or so while the fish and cow's skin would only cost $1.

It has been a long I have eaten fried stew because I love taking it with either rice or spaghetti and it is so delicious than using normal soup which would only be sweet on swallows like Amala or Semolina, or even Poundo Yam.

I said to myself two weeks ago that I felt like making a deep-fried stew, garnished with cow's skin which I would dice and add a lot of fish.

I was licking my tongue that day and I wished what I was craving should appear right in front of me but I didn't prepare it until yesterday when I woke up and shouted “I must go get all these ingredients today and satisfy my cravings”

I already have other ingredients with my rice ready in the house. After finishing all my chores and relaxing my beautiful hair, I took my bath and went out to get these ingredients.

WHAT DO I HAVE HERE TO MAKE MY MEAL?

  • Roasted Fish (Panla Yiyan)
  • Locust Beans (Iru)
  • An egg
  • Grated pepper
  • Diced cow's skin
  • Sliced onions

These are what I needed to make the food I have been craving and I spent 2 HBD to get all of them.

I got to business and washed and cleaned all my ingredients. I prepared my rice as usual and I fried my stew with red oil. I prefer using red oil to fry this stew because it is always delicious when eaten with rice or spaghetti.

After everything, my meal was ready and I served myself while I sat on my carpet devouring my delicious rice with deep-fried stew with sauce.

This was how I enjoyed my Friday alone in my room and I satisfied my cravings.

I have been able to learn that in each country there are totally different culinary forms and that without a doubt, I could try visiting that country. I've never seen your plate; I don't know much about your culture but if you like it, I hope you enjoyed it to the fullest, my beautiful friend.

I think many countries with their cultures and culinaries forms is what makes out the beauty in it and I would wish to have a taste too someday and that is when I would have the opportunity to travel out of my country.

I enjoyed the meal 😎😎
Thank you so much.
