No Act of Faith Dismissed|| Ningún acto de fe descartado [ENG-ESP]

Greetings, today's is another great day to behold. Let's get straight to the word:

Matt.12.15 - Aware of this, Jesus withdrew from that place. Many followed him, and he healed all their sick,
Matt.12.16 - warning them not to tell who he was.
Matt.12.17 - This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah:
Matt.12.18 - "Here is my servant whom I have chosen, the one I love, in whom I delight; I will put my Spirit on him, and he will proclaim justice to the nations.
Matt.12.19 - He will not quarrel or cry out; no one will hear his voice in the streets.
Matt.12.20 - A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out, till he leads justice to victory.
Matt.12.21 - In his name the nations will put their hope." (Matthew 12:15-21)

The smallest of faith finds comfort in Jesus. Remember the declaration Jesus made in Matthew 10:34,

“Do not think that I have come to bring peace, but a sword.”

Perhaps that feels like a contradiction with today’s reading that tells us “He will not break a bruised reed or quench a smoldering wick, till he brings justice to victory; and in his name will the Gentiles hope.” However, this does not contradict but rather fulfill his declaration.

Christ came to declare freedom to the world trapped in the bondage of sin. This message of freedom, however, is not excepted by everyone. 1 Corinthians 1:23 tells us,

“But we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles.”

Christ stands as the dividing point. Humanity has no choice but to either travel down the path of rejection or acceptance. For those who chose acceptance, Jesus shows unending compassion and patience as we stumble along. He will not dismiss us because we are bruised or weak. He will not allow our small flame of faith to be extinguished by life’s burdens. Instead, God bends to our level. He braces our weakness and heals our insecurities. He gently blows encouragement to fan us back into life.

We are God’s children, adopted through the blood of the lamb. God will not abandon His children. In Isaiah 43:1b-2 God declared,

“Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.”

Fear not, fragile Christian. God will never reject us for our frailty. He will never condemn our small acts of faith. Trust God with your fears and take His strength in return.

“No penséis que he venido a traer paz, sino espada”.

Dios no abandonará a Sus hijos.

No temas, frágil cristiano.
